This mid-century modern primary bathroom remodel near Lynden, WA was part of a larger effort to make the homeowners’ new house more functional and personalized. As they planned how the home would work best for their lifestyle, the clients decided to convert the former garage and bathroom area into a comfortable primary suite.

The goal was to create a bathroom that felt luxurious while carrying the home’s mid-century modern style throughout the space. We designed a custom tile shower with a built-in bump-out shelf for toiletries, adding both function and a clean architectural detail. For added comfort, the on-off valve was placed on the opposite wall from the showerhead so the water could be turned on without getting sprayed.

A new blonde rift white oak vanity brought warmth, texture, and a timeless MCM feel to the bathroom. The vanity also includes thoughtful storage solutions, including a U-shaped drawer designed to work around the plumbing while maximizing usable space.

Champagne bronze fixtures were used throughout the bathroom to add warmth and contrast. To improve everyday function, we also installed built-in cabinets around the stacked washer and dryer, matching the vanity for a cohesive look while creating a convenient laundry area with added workspace and storage.

The finished bathroom is warm, functional, and refined, blending mid-century modern design with the comfort and convenience of a well-planned primary suite.
